At the recent KL Orchid & Bonsai 2015 show, a stunning Paphiopedilum superbiens stood resplendent with eight gorgeous greenish, mahogany flowers. Can any superbiens be more super?
It also comes with attractive, mottled leaves.
Found in Sumatra, Paph superbiens grows terrestrially in deep shade, on damp leaf litter over sandstone. I haven’t got my hands on one (yet), but culturally, I think it does well in a mixture of lava rock, charcoal and coconut chips.
