Cattlianthe (Cattleya) Portia is an old hybrid registered long ago. It’s a cross between Guarianthe bowringiana and Cattleya labiata¬†and can come in many shades of pink and mauve.

Cattlianthe Portia is probably sitting in the gardens of many old homes without their owners knowing, having been divided and shared among friends who might have once thought of adding an orchid to their patio. But it would take lots more TLC to bring this sympodial orchid it to its full potential – it’s not terribly hard to grow, but not easy to flower spectacularly either.
