A beautiful vandaceous hybrid: Aerides lawrenceae x Vanda Gordon Dillon

An Aeridovanda is an intergeneric hybrid between the orchid genera, Aerides and Vanda. Aeridovanda Soroa Heartbreaker is a prime example, putting together two of the best: Aerides lawrenceae and Vanda Gordon Dillon to produce a hybrid with multiple unique, mauve spotted flowers. It appears that Aerides lawrenceae dominates the flower shape and form in this hybrid.

Aeridovandas hold a lot of potential for something unique and show-stopping and it won’t be long I’m sure, before we see more of them appearing at shows and nurseries.
